West Kent Speakers Club – Meeting Review 9th March – Maidstone

22 Members enjoyed another great evening of speaking and speech-making in Maidstone last week.

Chairman Robert kicked us off with an unusual warm-up, centered around returning things back to shops.

Ravi made a first-class job of his first ever topics session. His sense of humour showed clearly as we were asked to imagine we were famous people from history deliver our retirement speeches. Characters as diverse as Judas and Bruce Forsyth were seen delivering their swansong!

Fred passed his B3 with flying colours with a truly engaging speech about the demise of the BBC World Service.

Gestures in our speeches are as important as the words and some useful techniques and sound advice was imparted by Terry.

All in all a great evening of speaking….!
