All speeches need to be constructed with a clear beginning, middle and end so that it flows in a logical and clear manner. Some speeches immediately capture the attention by the illogicality of the opening, but will only truly succeed if these threads are then brought together to a compelling conclusion.
This, the second assignment, allows you to consider what you want your speech to achieve and then to construct it so that it meets this objective. Should it entertain, inform or persuade? However, remember that the spoken word is different to the written word, do not construct a speech like an essay that you then read out.
As before, your speech will be evaluated by an experienced member of the club to the following framework.
